Product Design Lead

About the Role
We are looking for a Product Design Lead to elevate the design function at Paybis and shape the future of our crypto/fintech products. In this role, you will drive the design vision, lead and mentor designers, and deliver exceptional user experiences across web and mobile platforms. You will set high standards for UX/UI quality, strengthen our design culture, and collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of designers, ensuring high-quality execution and continuous growth.
• Set the design vision and maintain a consistent design language across all touchpoints.
• Facilitate design critiques, knowledge-sharing sessions, and promote a collaborative design culture.

End-to-End Product Design

• Own the full design lifecycle: research, ideation, wireframing, prototyping, testing, and final UI delivery.
• Produce pixel-perfect designs aligned with business goals, user needs, and technical constraints.
• Conduct research and usability tests to validate concepts and gather insights for iteration.

Design Systems & Standards

• Build, maintain, and scale design systems across Web, iOS, and Android.
• Work confidently with components, variables, tokens, and versioning in Figma.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, and Data Scientists to solve complex problems.
• Present design decisions to stakeholders and communicate the rationale clearly.
• Participate in roadmap discussions, ensuring design input influences strategic decisions.

Process Improvement & Performance

• Evaluate and refine current design processes to increase efficiency and quality.
• Implement measurable KPIs for design initiatives and track the impact of delivered work.
• Introduce innovation, new tools, and best practices to raise the bar of design excellence.

What You Will Achieve in the First 6 Months

By Month 3:

• Complete deep immersion into products, users, design workflows, and culture.
• Audit existing design work and propose improvements.
• Build strong relationships across Product, Engineering, and Marketing.

By Month 6:

• Lead and deliver high-impact design projects.
• Strengthen and evolve the design system.
• Establish design rituals (reviews, documentation, standards).
• Become a key decision-maker for the product’s design direction.

Experience & Skills

• 5+ years of experience in product design.
• 2+ years of experience in a design leadership role.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating impactful UX/UI work (required at application).
• Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
• Expertise in Figma — components, tokens, prototyping, design systems.
• Experience designing for Web, iOS, and Android.
• Ability to run research and usability testing sessions.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills.
• Fluent English.

Domain Skills

• Experience with crypto or fintech products strongly preferred.
• Data-driven approach to design decisions.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JS).
• Experience in startups or high-growth environments.
• Any design awards or industry recognition.
