The Role

Lead a new Security team responsible for embedding security practices across all Finom products. This is a hands-on leadership position combining active development (50%) with team management (50%). You'll build security features while growing a small, high-impact team.

Technical Context

• Product: B2B fintech platform (banking, payments, accounting)
• Scale: Processing millions of transactions monthly
• Stack: .NET Core, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, GCP
• Team: 2 engineers currently (backend + frontend)

Responsibilities

Engineering (50%)

• Developing security features and tools in .NET/C#
• Implementing secure coding practices across the platform
• Security code reviews and vulnerability assessments
• Building automation for security testing (SAST/DAST)
• Designing secure APIs and authentication systems

Leadership (50%)

• Growing team from 2 to 5-7 engineers
• Coordinating security initiatives across backend/frontend/mobile
• Setting security standards and best practices
• Working with Security department on compliance requirements
• Mentoring teams on secure development

Requirements

Hard Skills

• 5+ years backend development (.NET/C#, Postgres, Redis, AWS, GCP, RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• Experience in regulated fintech or banking
• Practical knowledge of OWASP Top 10, OAuth2, JWT
• Understanding of security across full stack
• Experience with DevSecOps practices
• English B2+ for international collaboration

Nice to Have

• Security certifications (OWASP, CEH, CISSP, etc.)
• Knowledge of PCI DSS, GDPR compliance
• Contributions to security tools/frameworks

Soft Skills

• Balance between perfectionism and pragmatism
• Ability to explain security concepts clearly
• Desire to lead through code, not just processes
• Ready to actively code 50% of the time
